The SAMENA Telecommunications Council has announced that Zetrix AI Berhad, a Malaysia-headquartered technology company developing AI platforms, agentic solutions, digital identity, blockchain infrastructure, and automation technologies, has joined the Council as its newest member.
Zetrix AI is pursuing a business model that enables telecom operators to play a larger role in the delivery and commercialization of AI services. Rather than positioning operators only as connectivity providers, its approach builds on assets operators already possess, including customer relationships, billing systems, identity capabilities, distribution channels, enterprise relationships, and regulatory trust. For telecom operators, including Members of the Council on the path of telco-to-techco transformation, this approach is particularly relevant.
Zetrix AI’s Enterprise AI Token Management Platform is designed to allow users to access multiple AI models through a single telecom-enabled subscription environment. The platform can support both self-hosted open models and commercial AI models accessed through APIs, while providing centralized management of usage, credits, permissions, security, and service availability. For operators in the SA-ME-NA and neighboring regional markets, this enables a new service model of offering AI as a commercial service to consumers, SMEs, and enterprise customers. AI usage can be packaged within existing customer relationships and billed through the operator, allowing operators to participate more directly in emerging AI service revenues rather than remaining limited to the underlying connectivity layer.
Zetrix AI is also developing agentic solutions that can support more advanced AI services in which agents perform defined tasks, interact with enterprise or digital systems, and operate within controlled identity, permission, and transaction environments. Combined with Zetrix AI’s existing capabilities in digital identity and verifiable credentials, these solutions are intended to support trusted AI services across telecom, enterprise, government, and regulated-sector environments.

The engagement comes at a time when operators across the region are seeking new revenue streams and are assessing how their existing infrastructure and customer relationships can support new AI-enabled services.
