AT&T providing relief to those affected by California fires

As a series of wildfires in Southern California persists, AT&T continues to see impacts to its wireless network in parts of Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego and Ventura counties. Customers in affected areas may also be experiencing home phone and internet service disruptions, because of commercial power outages.

AT&T ha one of the industry’s largest disaster response programs to help keep wireless and wireline communications running during times of disaster. AT&T's teams are being dispatched where it is safe to do so, though active fire areas and evacuation zones remain inaccessible until conditions improve. AT&T is continuously deploying and refueling generators to provide service continuity to its customers until commercial power is restored, and have set up staging yards throughout the region, equipped with additional network assets and generators.

AT&T's dedicated team of meteorologists is constantly monitoring weather patterns to provide accurate forecasts and timely updates. This enables the teams to effectively respond to the evolving situation. As conditions allow, AT&T will continue to deploy these resources to impacted areas.

AT&T's FirstNet Response Operations Group™ (ROG) – led by a dedicated team of former first responders – is working around the clock to support public safety’s emergency communications and has liaisons engaged with local and federal agencies. In coordination with public safety officials, dedicated portable assets from the FirstNet fleet have been deployed to support firefighters and other first responders on the front lines where they need connectivity the most.

AT&T would also like to express our gratitude to the men and women who put their lives on the line, day in and day out, to protect and support our communities.

As a reminder to its AT&T Postpaid & Prepaid customers in affected areas, AT&T is waiving overage charges to provide unlimited talk, text and data through February 6, 2025. AT&T is also waving various charges for residential and business wireline orders placed through January 7, 2026.

AT&T understands how critical it is for its customers to stay connected, especially during a disaster. AT&T will continue to provide additional updates as our work continues.
