Launch of the 3rd edition of DigiSchool: Propelling education into the digital future

In line with its commitments to training and the promotion of digital skills, the Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports, in collaboration with Huawei Morocco, has announced the launch of the 3rd edition of DigiSchool, a national program aimed at strengthening the digital skills of students in rural areas and supporting the digital transformation of the education system. Building on the successes achieved during previous editions and the growing support of education stakeholders, this new edition marks a further step in the development of a more innovative, more inclusive Moroccan school system that is better connected to the skills of tomorrow.

Since its launch, DigiSchool has established itself as a structuring initiative to strengthen the integration of digital technologies in education, particularly in middle schools. By placing teachers and students at the heart of the initiative, the program pursues a clear ambition: to make digital technology a concrete lever for learning, educational innovation, and openness to new perspectives.

This new edition has been designed to amplify the program's impact at the national level. It includes the mobilization of 60 alumni teachers to support the training sessions, as well as the training of 300 new teachers across the Kingdom's twelve regions. Through a cascade training model, DigiSchool also aims to reach an additional 5,000 teachers indirectly. On the student side, 12,500 young people will be directly involved in DigiSchool clubs, while another 50,000 will be indirectly introduced to technology and innovation.

“With DigiSchool, we want to help foster a new educational dynamic, where technology becomes a true driver of learning, creativity, and equal opportunity. This third edition reflects our determination to go further alongside our institutional partners by supporting teachers, stimulating student engagement, and fostering, in all regions of the Kingdom, a culture of innovation that is inclusive and future-oriented,” said Mr. Anis Liu, Vice President of Huawei Morocco.

Beyond its scale, DigiSchool 2026 stands out for the richness of its approach. The program combines training, support, experimentation, and practical application in order to create a framework conducive to the emergence of new teaching practices. It is built around the creation of 300 DigiSchool clubs in schools, while also incorporating an openness to the educational ecosystem through the training of parents' associations, via teachers, on issues related to resource mobilization and participatory funding.

The program content covers both pedagogical skills and emerging technologies. Teachers and students will therefore be supported on cross-cutting themes such as design thinking, project management, sustainability, business modeling applied to IT projects, environmental and competitive analysis, data management, fundraising, business development, as well as the art of presentation and pitching. Particular attention will also be paid to EdTech and pedagogy in the digital age, in order to promote useful, practical, and sustainable uses of technology in learning.

From a technological standpoint, this new edition will focus on several key areas, including programming through Scratch, Python, and vibe coding, robotics, virtual and augmented reality, and the Internet of Things. By combining these learnings with a project-based approach, DigiSchool aims to give students the means to imagine, design, and defend solutions tailored to real educational and societal challenges.

The program will be rolled out in four major phases. A first phase of intensive three-day in-person training will be organized in the regions. This will be followed by a monitoring and support phase, with online sessions, classroom practice observation, and ongoing pedagogical support. The third phase will feature technology fairs in schools as well as 12 regional hackathons designed to identify and showcase the most innovative projects. Finally, the selected teams will take part in a three-day national bootcamp, before a final presentation before a national jury during Demo Day.

Through this new edition, DigiSchool reaffirms a strong conviction: the digital transformation of schools is not limited to access to tools; it also involves the ability to transmit, experiment, create, and build confidence among younger generations in their relationship with technology.

At the national level, DigiSchool aims to contribute to the digital transformation of Moroccan schools, the promotion of educational innovation, and the reduction of the digital divide, particularly in rural areas. By continuing the rollout of DigiSchool in Morocco, Huawei Morocco reaffirms its long-term commitment to an impactful digital transformation based on knowledge-sharing and the promotion of talent. More than a program, DigiSchool is part of a collective dynamic that prepares today's school for the demands of tomorrow and paves the way toward a more equitable, modern, and inclusive education.
