Omantel turns digital safety into an interactive adventure for children

Reinforcing its role as a community partner that goes beyond providing digital services, Omantel has announced the launch of an innovative awareness initiative titled “Digital Detective” as part of its participation in the Khareef Dhofar 2026 season. This interactive experience offers children and families a unique opportunity to combine learning with fun, while instilling essential principles of digital safety and transforming them from abstract concepts into real‑life scenarios that children can engage with.

The initiative invites children to step into the role of a “Digital Detective,” navigating scenarios inspired by common online risks such as phishing messages, fake accounts, oversharing of personal data, or interactions with strangers on digital platforms. By analyzing clues, spotting suspicious indicators, and making the right decisions, participants learn how to protect themselves in the digital world. At the end of the experience, each child receives a certificate and a personalized badge recognizing their achievement as an official “Omantel Digital Detective.”

Commenting on the initiative, Qais Al Aamri, Manager of CSR at Omantel, said: “At Omantel, we believe that building a digitally aware generation is an investment in a safer, smarter future. Through the Digital Detective initiative, we translate our commitment to the community into an interactive learning experience that helps children and families understand online risks and respond responsibly. This strengthens trust in the digital environment and makes it safer for everyone.”

The initiative primarily targeted the 6-to-15 age group, with content tailored to their interests, while also allowing parents to take part in certain stages of the experience to encourage family dialogue around the responsible use of digital technology. Children progressed through several stages, beginning with registration, followed by working through one of the digital scenarios, and concluding with an evaluation and graduation in an enjoyable learning atmosphere.

The experience lasts approximately 20 to 25 minutes, guiding participants through registration, tackling a digital case, and concluding with evaluation and graduation, all in an engaging, educational environment.

Omantel’s participation in Khareef Dhofar underscores that its role is not limited to entertainment but extends to delivering initiatives with lasting educational and social impact. By empowering children and families to navigate the digital world with awareness and responsibility, Omantel reaffirms its position as a proactive community partner contributing to a safer and more competitive digital future.
